Prototype 43

Practical

Addaption of Prototype 35
Focus: making the bending gaps smaller to prevent cookies from getting stuck
Duration: 15 min
Materials: ABS 4 mm + parts of prototype 35
Principle: cutting simple lines through the material instead of cutting out rectangles
Prototype:

Photo's & Video's

ABS not fully cutted through on the inside because we used a laser setting for 3 mm ABS instead of 4 mm

outside of cookie machine with cutted lines for bending

The sandpaper has to much grip on the elastic band doesn't release on time.

video shows that elastic band doesn't turn properly

Prototype 42

Practical

Testing with prototype 41
Focus: user test
Duration: 30 min
Materials: prototype 41
Principle: testing details: resistance test, dimension test
Prototype:

Photo's & Video's

The meaning of the visit was to test if the cookie machine fits on the place on the photo. The machine can be placed there but then we have to make the tube longer so Luc can reach the turning wheel, or the machine can be placed on the place where the old machine is placed now.

Luc was able to turn the wheel due the tension of the elastic band, he said it was no problem for him to turn the wheel.

Prototype 41

Practical

Based on: prototype 39
Focus: testing good manner to attach turning wheel on aluminium tube
Duration: 20 min
Materials: PMMA + aluminium tube + wheel collar
Principle: making cut in aluminium tube and a little extra material in whole of turning wheel

Prototype 40

Practical

Based on: prototype 39
Focus: testing heating and bending PMMA instead of making gaps to make it flexible
Duration: 30 min
Materials: PMMA
Principle: testing bending after heating

Prototype 39

Practical

Based on: prototype 38
Focus: testing details
Duration: 45 min
Materials: PMMA, elastic, sand paper, aluminium tubes
Principle: testing if the adaptions do make a difference

Prototype 38

Addaption on prototype 37

addaptions:
=> addaptions to thinkness of material (now 3 mm)
=> different tests with fold piece (other one did break)
=> different tests for turning wheel

3D model of the second cookie machine prototype:

design for lasercutting:

This design contains 3 different turning wheels. Luc prefered the closed circles to turn but the wheel didn't fit on the aluminium tube. Now there are 2 gaps with different and smaller diameter to test wheter there could be a press fitting. Also there is a gap with a small leftover of the pmma, this could be a solution to obtain grip to turn the tube.
